Excellence isn't this thing you do one time. It's a way of living. It's foundational.
‘‘We are what we repeatedly do…
therefore excellence is not an act, but a habit.”

These are all the self-care tasks I do in a day. When I do these, I feel calm, grounded, fulfilled, capable, healthy, energized, and ready for anything. I feel more optimistic, happy, and joyful.
All told, I spend on average 11.11% of my day on taking care of myself, or 2.6 hours, which is just about two episodes of Love is Blind on Netflix.
I’m breaking down the key elements of my day to inspire you and show you what’s possible. These actions are done very deliberately (I am the deliberate one after all).
Early Bird Gets The Worm
Wake Up - 6 AM:
I like to wake up early, before anyone else (including the dog) is up. This is a quiet, uninterrupted time to myself, to be alone with my thoughts.
Find Your Inner Peace
Meditate (10 Minutes):
I meditate to reconnect with stillness and integrate any new belief systems into my subconscious.
Hydration is Key
Hydrate:
I consume one 4x 40 oz bottle of water (the first 40 ideally within the first hour of waking helps my body recover from its nightly dehydration). The effects of consuming this water every day does wonders for my energy, my regulation, and my skin!
Breathe Life Into Your Day
Breath Work (5-15 Minutes) 2-3 times per day:
I use up-regulated breath work in the morning with holds on full and empty to direct blood from less vital organs to my brain, increasing heart rate and adrenaline, which sharpens my mind. I end up feeling alert, awake, and energized (before coffee!).
Create Your Day With Intention
Journaling (5-10 Minutes):
I write about what I’m going to “create” today using the sentence stem “I Create…”. It looks something like, “I create a day where everything is easy and fun!” To create means to bring something into existence. When you create, you bring your desire into existence in the higher realm, the creation realm, and then your creation manifests in the physical realm. Then, I get into gratitude using the sentence stem “I am so grateful for/about/…”. Typically, this list is 5-6 items long.
Nature Nurtures
Time Outside (10-20 Minutes):
I spend 10-20 minutes outside, getting natural sunlight in my eyes and walking barefoot in the grass first thing in the morning. I focus on feeling the contact of my feet with the ground. Then, I stand before the trees and just observe. The different colors of green, how the branches intertwine, and how tall the trees/natural growth goes. It’s a reminder of the egoless, effortless growth that nature demonstrates. All of this grows because it just grows. A necessary reminder in today’s Instagram-aesthetic world.
Flow With Energy
Energy Management (10 Minutes):
I use specific energy movement exercises to displace negative energy/tension, followed by a tapping massage to promote circulation, open up the body, and remove blockages, tension, stiffness, and to help me feel calm and clear in my body.. (Send me a message and I’ll send you my guided video on these practices!)
Motion Is Lotion
Workout (30-35 Minutes):
I work out with weights regularly now (5 days a week) to regulate hormones, improve mood and energy levels, release endorphins, and enhance strength, balance, and coordination. I focus on sweating out toxins by wearing a garbage bag and a thermal sweater.
Fuel Your Day
Breakfast Smoothie:
I have the same nutrient-dense smoothie every day after a 12-14 hour fast.
Cold and Bold
Cold Plunge/Cold Shower (30sec-5min):
I do this to prove I can do hard things, wake my system up, boost my metabolism, and improve my immune system.
A Break A Day Keeps The Stress Away
In the middle of the day, I take a break outside or do some breath work for about 5-10 minutes.
Soak The Stress Away
I take a hot foot bath with Epsom salts and peppermint essential oil for about 20 minutes in the evening to ground myself and bring a spa-like feeling home.
Stretch To De-Stress
Stretching/Slow Flow (10-15 minutes):
I do this to release tension, reconnect to my body, and breathe deeply.
Girl, Wash Your Face
Face Care:
I cleanse, moisturize, and use a guasha on my face. This has become an integral part of my day and cue for getting a good nights sleep.
Looking at the ROI
When I look at how I feel after doing all of these things… truly taking care of myself mentally, emotionally, energetically, and physically, 2.6 hours hardly seems like a lot.
I encourage you to assess how your self-care practices are working for you. Adjust, find new, and always lead with intention!
Is there anything that you’re going to take from this and try for yourself?
Any questions about the why behind what I do? Feel free to send me a message!
Breathe it in, be deliberate, and be good to yourself!
