Your mindset is either your greatest asset,or your biggest block.
YOU get to choose which.
In 2018 I didn’t understand the power of a deliberate mindset. I spent quite a bit of money on quick fixes and temporary solutions that never really solved the underlying issues.
Here’s how I used to waste money—until I learned how to make my mindset work for me, not against me:
Expensive Fads and Quick Fixes...
I used to jump on every new diet and juice cleanse that promised to change my weight and life. But these quick fixes never lasted. Now, I’ve learned to eat intuitively, nourishing my body in a way that’s sustainable and doesn’t require spending on the latest trend.
Unused Gym Memberships...
I can't tell you how many gym memberships I paid for but never used. I knew exercise was important, but I lacked the motivation to actually go (consistently). Once I shifted my mindset, I started using the resources I was already paying for, turning wasted dollars into real results.
Stress-Related Impulse Purchases...
I LOVED Aritzia. Popping in there was my go-to for dealing with stress. A bad day often meant a shopping spree that left me with more beautiful blouses I didn’t need and less money in my bank account. Now, I manage stress in healthier ways, saving money and feeling more fulfilled when I shop mindfully.
Costly Therapy or Medications...
My unregulated emotions led to costly therapy sessions and medications that only addressed the symptoms, not the root cause. Once I learned to manage my mindset and emotions proactively, I was able to reduce these costs and invest in long-term well-being instead.
Unproductive Days...
Stress and burnout would knock me out for days, costing me not just time but also money. Sick days meant less productivity and missed opportunities. By learning to regulate my nervous system and take actual good care of myself, I’ve significantly reduced the number of unproductive days, keeping me on track and financially stable.
Once I got my mindset working for me, everything changed. Not only did I save money, but I also felt more empowered, focused, and capable of creating lasting change in my life.
Breathe it in, Be Deliberate, and please be good to yourself!
